This photo of Porkchop is actually a mosaic of a whole lot of tiny other photos all from my iPhone camera roll. Zoom in and you can see all the different photos.
My favorite singer joins me on this song, “What A Wonderful World.” Michael English and I sing it and I love it. It’s going to be released on my new CD, “Unforgettable Classics” in the next few weeks. You will be able to order it from MarkLowry.com
DYLAN UPDATE FROM HIS MOM
May 13, 2013 12:23 PM
I always seem to get lax on my updates when things are going fairly well. I guess I still subconsciously think “no news is good news”.
Anyway, last week we went in for chemo. We are going in every 10 days right now and not only is each visit dependent on his blood work, but the dosages are increased at each visit. This means more neuropathy (pain in feet and ankles) from one chemo, more fatigue, and apparently a few more headaches. Dylan is handling all this like a champ, though!
We are slowly getting all of Dylan’s schoolwork caught up and we meet with his teacher twice a week. I am happy to say that he has achieved straight A’s so far in the midst of all his trials! I am so proud of my little warrior!
Today we will be heading to the chiropractor to see about more pain control and help for the headaches.
We thank you all for your prayers. The other good news from last week (besides his good grades) is that his counts are way up again. His blood work looked fantastic. Before starting this phase his ANC (count that shows ability to fight infection) was 770 and Friday it was over 3000!
DYLAN UPDATE FROM HIS MOM
May 1, 2013 4:31 PM
Hello friends and family!
My apologies for going so long since the last update. Last week we were sent home without chemo or sedation because Dylan’s counts dropped again. The main one, the ANC needed to be 750 and it was 330! So we went for labs again on Monday and he was at 770, he just barely made the cut.
He had a spinal tap and two different IV chemos today and then we had lunch at Maggiano’s since Dylan was craving spaghetti. Our waiter was a leukemia survivor and bought us a lovely dessert as a treat/reward for Dylan going through chemo. One of the most beautiful things to come out of Dylan’s illness is the chance to meet wonderful, new people. I’ve also had the rare opportunity to spend some much needed one-on-one time with Dylan!
We are now working hard to finish the rest of Dylan’s 3rd quarter schoolwork as we had gotten a lot of his work mixed up. We will meet with his teacher tomorrow to touch base and turn some stuff in and hopefully be able to start on 4th quarter Monday.
Thanks for all your prayers. We ask that you keep another family in your prayers as they prepare to start treatment for their daughter’s 3rd leukemia diagnosis. The leukemia has now returned and they’ll be looking at bone marrow transplant.
SUNDAY UPDATE ON DYLAN
From his mom:
Apr 21, 2013 2:28 PM
I am so happy to report that Dylan had no headaches yesterday so he was able to go spend the night with his dad. I will take him tomorrow to get his counts checked one more time before he starts the next phase of chemo on Wednesday.
According to Dr. Lou, the next phase will be every 10 days and then the phase after that goes to monthly visits. By George, we can’t wait for that!!!
Anyway, we want to thank everyone again for praying us home. We have been resting today so that we will be ready to go strong tomorrow. It’s back to homework, cleaning, sorting, etc. We might even get some playing in if the pollen doesn’t drive us back indoors!
